2011 Ohio AlpacaFest Valerian son won JUDGE'S CHOICE, HIGH SCORE, COLOR CHAMPION AND BEST BRIGHTNESS in the fleece show!!
Another son won HIGH SCORE in the spin off!!
We are a fleece market...what are you breeding for?
***2013 Side fiber sample
Yocom-McColl:20.0/4.8/23/9%/3.4% Very nice for an 8y.o. breeding male!
IMPORTANT... Valerian's cria, like him as a cria, have great coverage, fineness, incredible brightness (one farm described it as looking like shiny plastic) and the look of a suri's fleece. The crimp does develop as you can see in the picture to the right of Valerian's cria fleece and 2nd shearing.
This 3/4 Accoyo El Nino son has fiber that appears to be dripping gold. Valerian has the softest hand and is incredibly dense, with a long staple length. His crimp is visible without touching his fleece, all the way down his legs and up his neck.
Seeing him and touching him will speak volumes more than I could ever write.
Valerian has the same calm dignity his dam, Verbena (a Victor daughter and mother to MSA Pinot Noir), has and gets along well with his 11 other pen mates. He can be led to and from his breedings by putting your arm around his neck and walking with him.
I mention this as we believe personality is also important, especially in a breedng male that lives with other males and needs to be handled by us.
A skin biopsy done on Sept 20, 2007 and the total results were outstanding.
70 follicles/sq mm (average Dr Evans has seen in his testings 38.75sq mm)
S/P 19.75 to 1 (average found 8.5 to 1)!
Triad clusters-remarkable.
And, he continues to hold his fineness!
Stop by and take a look to see what he can add to your breeding program or email for a fiber sample.

This guy just seems to keep getting better with age. Wayfarer comes from one of the most closely held maternal lines in the foundation herd here at CCNF. His dam, Nutmeg, was part of the 1st generation of Legacy Gold kids ever born here, though more importantly Nutty was also the first born cria of our beloved Reality. The depth of quality we have continued to see out of Reality and her offspring since is really without compare. In addition to Nutmeg, we also have her younger sister, Acomani, here in our foundation herd. Nutmeg's full brother, CCNF Golden Inuendo, is a working Herdsire at Vermont Alpaca Co.
Wayfarer gets it from both sides though. Being a son of of the great Royal Ring of Fire in fact makes him a card carrying member of arguably the two most powerful colored lines in our herd, though because of that he unfortunately also has only limited use to us within our foundation herd. So while he is available for purchase, we have also elected to offer him for outside stud service so that others may take advantage of his excellent genetics!
Wayfarer was a standout member of the 2010, 2011, and 2012 CCNF show strings winning multiple Championship banners in that time and is now also a proven Herdsire! His first cria, CCNF Compass Rose, was born here earlier this summer and all signs point to her being the very real deal!
